The Medium Voltage Access Gateway turns a Utility’s entire power grid infrastructure into a communications network. The network can be used to deliver broadband services directly to homes, offices, and Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs) or to communicate critical Utility application data such as outage detection, remote meter reading, demand-side management, distributed automation, theft detection and other data.

이상 위에 있는 제품들은 PLC 및 BPL 장비를 구성하기 위한 장비들이며 이미 상용화 제품들이다. 위의 제품들을 가지고 IBM 에서 BPL 서비를 시범 테스트 하였다.
특히 BPL 관련 Access Gateway 들은 모두 옥외 설치용으로 방수 처리 와 발열 처리를 위한 금속케이스 로 디자인 되어 있다.
